Hi my name is Jeril and I am from Wayanad, currently working in Spectrum Softtech Solutions as Software Developer. I have never thought I will start my career as Software developer because I was B tech EC student and I didn’t have any idea regarding programming languages except C and C++ etc. I thought programming would be pretty tough for a non Computer Science student like me. That’s why when STEPS team offered me PHP training I became confused. But they gave me confidence to join as a PHP trainee. When I started my training I realized that it was not that difficult as I thought it would be. Then slowly I started learning things. Real time work environment helped a lot to explore my potential. Many of my classmates are still searching for job and I got one, only because of the help of STEPS training centre. After completing my graduation, I have attended countless interviews and other screening process but none of them were successful. Then I got a call from STEPS, the Training and Development wing of spectrum Softtech Solutions, regarding IT opportunities. I visited there and attended the interaction session. And then I realized the reason behind the failures of my previous interviews. It was lack of industrial exposure which prevented me to start a career. So I joined there as PHP trainee. Hi, my name is Sreevidya, I have completed Web designing training from STEPS Kochi. By the grace of God and with the Help of STEPS Kochi, I am currently working in Spectrum Softtech Solutions as Web Designer. Most of the people (including me) have a false belief that Web designing requires lots of technical knowledge and only a technical graduate can do it properly. But STEPS proved it wrong. Being an MFA graduate I was able to create and design new things and STEPS training helped me to gain the technical knowledge of web designing. And I used my creativity in designing web pages. Hi guys.. I would like to share my experience in STEPS with you.. Myself Antony James, completed Bsc Maths from St. Aloysius College. After completing graduation I was in confusion, weather to look for a job or to go for higher studies. At that time an Executive from STEPS called me to inform IT opportunities in STEPS. I was wondered because I am not a B tech or BE or MCA graduate, what can I do in IT sector?. But I visited STEPS for more information. I had a friendly conversation with the officials of STEPS and they have provided me the information regarding the opportunities in IT sector for general graduates. Hi…. My name is Lamu and right now I am working in Dubai. I am working in Mellow Trading Company as a Manager. After completing Diploma in Electronics and Communication from RVS college of Engineering, I joined STEPS for the Windows On The Job Training. I through of joining STEPS as I really wanted some experience in the industry rather than joining for a traditional classroom training. Actually during that time, I was looking around to do a certificate course in Java. But, from the STEPS counselor, I realized that it is experience which counts a lot more than a certificate. I also got rejected in many interviews because I didn’t have experience. Through the Java training of STEPS, I gained a lot of knowledge along with experience in Java. I completed the Linux Server Administration Training from STEPS training division. Now I am working at Spectrum Softtech Solution as a Linux Administrator. Spectrum is having high-end technical services like Server Colocation, hosting etc. As far as technical administration is concerned, what we got from college education was just theoretical knowledge. I understood that theoretical awareness cannot really help in actual working conditions. I acquired enough work related knowledge through the STEPS training which helped me to get this job. After my Graduation I was looking forward to sharpen my technical skills for a job in IT sector. Those days, I heard about STEPS, and that it is the training wing of Spectrum IT park. I got good feedback from my friends too about it so I joined for Windows Training course there. It was a 3-months course, but what I have earned is 3 years experience.
